One Day Better Training

Who is Coach Michelle?

Michelle Kania, MS, ATC, CSCS is a certified athletic trainer, certified strength and conditioning coach, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach with over 20 years of experience with injury rehabilitation, performance enhancement, sports psychology, biomechanics, nutrition, and recovery.

Michelle works with people to find the best possible version of themselves.  Whether it be rehabilitating from an injury, learning to cook and eat healthier meals, or bring their performance to the next level she LOVES watching clients, patients, and friends achieve their goals.  While media sources would make it seem easy or quick to make change, what truly works is a focus on making a 1% change every day…”one day better” and “rise by lifting others” are two mission statements she lives by.

Growing up she was always active playing sports in the neighborhood and then in high school she played volleyball, basketball, and softball for four years. In college she dabbled with using the weight room but didn’t have the precise guidance she needed. After college she stayed involved in adult recreational sports, and played two years of professional women’s football with the Chicago Force. Her career with the Force was ended early after an ACL tear. After surgery and rehabilitation, she continued to be active in adult recreational sports, running 5ks, and strength training.

In 2014, she hired a strength training coach and began focusing on her nutrition. At 35 she was stronger than she was at 16 and also weighed just about the same amount. Michelle is now a powerlifter who occasionally tries to run. She loves cooking, baking, reading non-fiction, listening to podcasts, watching Hulu, ESPN, & Disney+, and traveling with her dog (Bitchy) Vixen.
